Identification

Most readily confused with Common (both Northern and Southern hemisphere) and Antarctic Terns (Southern hemisphere only).


 

Where and When

Famous for its extremely long annual migration from breeding grounds in the high latitudes of the Northern hemisphere (Arctic and Sub-arctic) and 'wintering' grounds in the pack ice zone of Antarctica.
